Feature Update: Lock Data Synchronized From External Systems
Many organizations use Flowcase as their single source of truth for skills and experience data. As part of this, they create integrations that synchronize data from external systems such as certification platforms, ERP systems, learning management systems (LMS), and HR databases.
When integrating this data, it's often important that the externally sourced content is not altered, in order to maintain a compliant 1:1 data connection between systems.
We've made some important changes that ensure this data-integrity is preserved:
1. Ability to lock down custom tags synchronized from external source systems.
Administrators can now lock down certain custom tag categories so that custom tags within that category can only be removed/added to CVs or reference projects via the API or by users with the role administrator.
Go to Settings > Customise Workspace > Custom tags, select a tag category and check the new option in the menu:
By checking this option, users will lose ability to add or remove custom tags from this category, and be presented with this information:
2. Ability to lock down sections synchronized from external source systems.
If Admins want to strictly prohibit changes to field data that is imported from external systems, they can lock these sections. They can achieve this by navigating to: Admin > Customize Workspace > Customize Fields.
If a section has been locked, the user will be shown this message:
3. Icons that indicate which data is synchronized from external systems
This ensures users are aware of which data is pulled in from an external system.
