Using the Flowcase MCP Server with Claude Desktop

Overview

This guide walks you through setting up the Flowcase MCP server as an extension in Claude Desktop, enabling Claude to search and manage CV data directly.

⚠️ As we are today only supporting bearer tokens for authentication, you can only use services supporting this type of authentication. OAuth 2.0 support will come in 2026.

1. Generate and Enter the API Key

Only administrators can create API keys required for the MCP. You must use a read-only administrator API key.

  1. Log in to your Flowcase tenant.
  2. Navigate to: https://<subdomain>.flowcase.com/settings#/apikeys
  3. Create a read-only admin API key.
  4. Install the Extension file.

2. Upload the Extension in Claude Admin Settings

Open admin-settings/connectors in your browser at https://claude.ai/admin-settings/connectors.

Choose the Desktop tab.

Download flowcase_mcp.mcpb: http://assets.cvpartner.com/mcp-files/flowcase_mcp.mcpb

Click Add custom extension, then select flowcase.mcpb to install the extension.

3. Configure the Extension in Claude Desktop

  1. Open Claude Desktop.
  2. Go to Settings > Extensions > Browse Extensions.
  3. Search for "Flowcase".
  4. Select the MCP extension that was installed in step 2.
  5. Add a new MCP server with the following details:
  • Name: Flowcase MCP (or any label you prefer)
  • URL: https://<your-tenant-subdomain>.flowcase.com/mcp

Then create and add credentials:

  1. In Flowcase, create a read-only administrator API key.
  2. Copy the API key.
  3. In Claude Desktop, set this API key in the MCP server configuration.

4. Optional: Always Allow Tool Calls

To remove confirmation prompts each time Claude calls the MCP tools:

  1. In Claude Desktop, go to Settings > Extensions > Flowcase.
  2. Open the Flowcase MCP server settings (click Configure).
  3. For each tool, set the permission to Always allow:
  • search_users
  • search_cvs
  • fetch_cv_markdown

5. What Claude Can Do

Once configured, Claude will be able to:
